Blessings, Big and Small #8-22

This is an installment in the Blessing, Big and Small series.

Over the past couple weeks, God has blessed me beyond measure yet again! Here is how:

8. Mister being able to participate in half of Bethel Baptist Church’s basketball season.

9. My parents treating us to the last after-basketball Dairy Queen.

10. A new Vera Bradley hipster purse with matching wallet.

11. An off-the-hook birthday!

12. Celebrating a RISEN Saviour!

13. Dinner with family I have not seen in a while. There were lots of laughs as always.

14. Lots of giggles of Noel in her Easter dress. Mister cannot believe I bought a dress for Noel for Easter. He was mortified! Ha!

1-185

15. 79 cent movies at Drug Mart for our first Monday movie night after basketball season.

16. Impromptu date night at a Cavs game.

17. Mister having a day off before a drill weekend.

18. Having a drill weekend that went by fast. That very rarely happens!

19. Awesome weather! I worked on a project for Noel so she can use our full yard without me being outside.

20. Noel kind of learning that it is OK to be outside without me. She freaks out less and less each time.

21. A ginormous yard. Mister and I have never had a yard this big. Living in the country is great 🙂

22. Unexpected last minute local tax refund.

I love counting blessings! God is good all the time!

How has God blessed you in the past few weeks?

Blessings, Big and Small #2-7

This is an installment in the Blessings, Big and Small series.

I am far behind on my blessings. Sorry about that! I will probably start posting my blessings weekly or bi-weekly. This one is going back about two weeks. I have them in the order as they happened.

~The opportunity to spend the night at my parents’ house when Mister is at drill. You can read about my weekend here and here.

~A husband that will stay home from work to take care of me due to the lack of meds. He walked me to wherever I needed to go, cooked all the meals, and kept me somewhat sane while I was meds-less.

~A husband that will fight with Express Scripts, Tricare, and CVS to get me the proper meds since some things were messed up along the way. He was victorious!

~Feeling well enough to go to the gun show with my Love. It was so nice to do something he enjoys!

~Dinner out with family for my mom’s birthday. We had hibachi, and it was delicious!!!!! Plus, I was able to see some family I do not get to see much.

~A spiritual leader/friend in our church that calls to check on us and see how we are doing when we miss services. We have never really had a church home like that.

~My parents’ treating us to Dairy Queen after Mister’s basketball game.

~Having our own washer and dryer. I am three weeks behind on laundry but am almost caught up. We did not have our own when we were first married. We washed clothes at my parents’ house. But thanks to some awesome people, we have our own, and I am loving it!

I think that is all for now!

What blessings has God brought your way?

Primroses and great friends

This past weekend, we had a couple from church over for dinner.

I forgot to take pictures the entire night even though the camera was in reaching distance. We were having too much fun to take the time out for pictures! Since I didn’t take pictures, I will post the picture of us with them from the You Are Loved Banquet (they are on the left, obviously). Meet Doug and Angel…

We talked a while, had homemade pizza, and played catch phrase. My Love, Angel, and Doug really enjoyed laughing at me and teasing me during catch phrase because they think I was crazy even though I have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. It’s not like I was jumping up and down, talking really fast, and getting stressed out by the timer sounding faster and faster…

They brought sparkling grape juice and pretty pink primroses! Their last name is Primm, so it was very fitting! 🙂 I really hope my awful black thumb doesn’t totally kill them because they are already looking wilted.

We’ve slowly been getting to know them over time through church and the banquet, and we hardly knew this couple when they walked in the door. By the time they left, I feel like we’re great friends. We are definitely looking forward to our next get together with them!!!

How did you spend your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Secret Sister Gift ~ February 2013

My secret sister’s gift to me this month was AWESOME!!!

102Yeah, you saw that right! It’s a $25 gift card to Applebee’s!!! We love Applebee’s! It’s the perfect after Sunday morning church meal.

She also bought me a little vase. I have it by my side of the bed to keep chocolates (most likely Reese’s cups) in for my first-thing-in-the-morning fix! Is my secret sister amazing or what?!

Secret Sister Gift ~ January 2013

I’m really late in writing this post, and in all honesty, I forgot. Oops! So…here it is!

I’m participating in the Secret Sister program at our church where the ladies in the program have a secret sister and one does/buys/encourages them throughout the year. I will be featuring what my secret sister has done for me through out this year.

For the month of January, my secret sister bought me a coffee mug with a hanging plaque, a snow globe (my very first!), and lots of tea!

Mister laughed when he saw the mug because I already have so many. I think I might have a mug addiction, and I don’t even drink coffee!

You Are Loved Banquet 2013

The night I’ve been looking forward to for weeks finally came! My parents’ came over to puppy-sit, and my mom helped me get ready!

We drove to Hartville Kitchen, and when we arrived, Forever Captured Photography was taking everyone’s picture in  front of the beautiful staircase. I’ll be sure to share when I have it.

We made our way back to the banquet room, and it was decorated in a “love birds” theme.

Then it was time for the Are You Loved? game. It was along the lines of the newlywed game. This is the game we were participating in.

We’ve Expanded Our Home by Four Feet!

Yesterday, I blogged about our week-long celebration of Christmas and told you I’d tell you later what my EPIC Christmas present was from Santa and my parents’.

Mister and my mom have been plotting for a few months now about a Christmas present idea for me. They wouldn’t hint as to what it would be. Every time I would touch Mister’s phone, I would get “scolded.” I wasn’t allowed anywhere near his phone or email. I tried to get my parents’ to tell me what it was, but they wouldn’t budge.

Mister wrapped  this big box, and it was heavy! My mind started racing. I couldn’t figure out what was inside. I knew it definitely wasn’t on my list.

As Christmas drew new, I was getting more and more excited! And Mister was too!!!

My cousins came to visit for Christmas and were staying at my parents’ house. When I talked to my mom and B, they said B got a puppy for Christmas. My heart sank because I’ve been wanting a puppy so bad for so long! I was bitten by the green monster.

When we finally went to my parents’ house this past Saturday, B’s gorgeous puppy met me at the door, and I immediately fell in love!

On Christmas Eve, we went to my parents’ house again to hang out with the family. After everybody had opened their Elfster presents, Mister told me I could open the mysterious big box!

When I first opened the box and saw a dog toy, I was confused. We had agreed that we can’t afford a dog. When Mister was pointing towards the door, it didn’t even occur to me that B’s puppy was REALLY my puppy because I had been told over and over that she was B’s puppy. I was ecstatic!!! The whole family knew about the surprise, and I’m so shocked they were able to keep it a secret for so long!

We changed her name to Noel. She is a well-behaved, hyper, five month old shorkie.

We love hearing the pitter-patter of little paws on the floor. We love puppy kisses and cuddles. We just love having a puppy!!!
